Some quesetions on saltwater fishing?
Well, i just started fishing and i got all my gears, i decided to lure instad of live baits because it's so hard to get them around here. So here's the pier i used to crab fish, but i saw some poeple catching flatfish/fluke or whatever this fish is, but it's some kind of flat fish.

As you can see, you cannot throw oevr the white thing at the end of the bridge.
Soo here are my questions
1.What kind of fish do you think live there?
2.What is the point(like good place to catch a fish), by looking at the map
Hi Eric, we have several species of flat fish up here, I see folks on the pier near me catch em all the time. They could be sole, pacific(spotted) flounder. or small halibut(chicken). My best luck catching some of these smaller flat fish has been near high tide in 15-50ft of water. Looking at your map, I would fish right on those slopes surrounding the peninsula, not casting out very far at all and staying in my depth range. Once your off those slopes it probably drops off very deep. The Pier near me drops off to 200ft pretty quick. I have good luck using chunks of sardine, herring or whole small smelt, then rig up for bottom fishing. I have also caught them using buzz-bombs, and small spinnows, dragging them slowly on the bottom. Hope this helps. 40yr exp Pacific Northwest guide
