Rock Climbing Equipment
How to Get in shape for Rock Climbing?!?

My height is 5'4 I weigh 110lbs. Never really got into any sports. just one day i went indoor rockclimbing with some friends for fun and I fell in love with the sport.
What kinds of workouts can I do? (preferably at home)
Workout equipment that I have:
weights 5lbs and 15lbs
and treadmill
Any tips for a beginner?

You can get a great gym at home with very basic stuff.
Just be careful and don't try the impossible, haha.
You need a bit of strength, a lot of flexibility, good wrists and hands, and good balance.
You also need staying power...endurance. No good if your legs are worn out or the rest of you gets tired and sore half way up the rock when you're stuck in the middle of it.

That treadmill will be of great help there, but even better is to get outdoors and do some jogging. Easy start, no overdoing things. There's more to see and if you run home with the shopping (haha, but yes I do it myself some days) you get some extra benefit from it too by giving yourself a bit of weight to carry. A well fitted backpack is great for that.
On Army training we ran 7 miles twice a week with a pack full of bricks and stones....40 pounds of it.....we sure knew we'd done it then....whooooh. But I won a place in an event which is a really wonderful and joyous thing to be a part of....the annual Liberation Marches in Nijmegan, Holland, where endurance is really needed for the longer 50Km stuff.
You can also use high buildings which have public access. Just go up the steps...all the way up. You get yourself lifting under leg power then, step after step after step after step after...whoah......then some more after a rest.
One day you'll get all the way up 50 levels without stopping...yahaaaay!!

Slow dance helps an awful lot with balance. Graceful movement in slow dances, with the back straight and lightness of foot can be very hard going. Dance is great training, quick or slow, and graceful movement is rock climbing paradise.
It uses less energy, gives an efficient flow of progress over the rock and makes you look like you belong there and are not just an occasional sightseeing visitor.

Leverage......O dear, science lifts it's head again. If you are close to a heavy weight you can lift it easier than at arm's length. You know (probably, if you're like the rest of us) how you move your body to help in lifting a heavy wet fleece or whatever from a wash tub.
On the rock it works the same. When you are six inches off the rock your weight as the rock feels it and you feel it is more than when you are three inches off it. So lean climbers get a good time of it compared to others. But, some guys with big beer bellies are actually excellent climbers....but they need more strength, and generally they have it through carrying all that weight around every day.
If you hang a long way off the rock you put more pressure on it and so on some types of rock...weathered slates and shales for example, you can bust it and then your handhold or foothold isn't there any more. Close in, you put less pressure on it.
Close to the rock you have the best advantage. Sometimes you need to be way off to see anything and for some moves you are a very long way off the rock at arm's length , so the leverage is greater and you need to be able to handle it.
Don't overdo it, but a bit of strength training and especially flexibility training will help a lot.
Most times your legs do the lifting on a rock with a bit of help from your arms. Sometimes you just have to grab the rock tight or wedge your fist into a gap very tight and lift with your arms, but that's not going be the case on a climbing wall or artificial rock face.
Here is a little cutie to get you going Ahhhhh....sweet little thing. She isn't a muscle bound hulk of solid flesh is she? But she can still climb. Good for her. She'll feel great when she's got to the top. Yeeeahhh I did it!

This clever lady has interchangeable arms and legs....very clever eh? Actually it's just a trick of the camera. You can see her fingers showing round the technical stuff, full of chalk.
Wide angle lenses on close subjects artificially distort apparent sizes of things....but it looks good.

Enjoy, but take care.
There is no shame in coming down a rock face because you can't get any further.
Live to fight again...
It's better than doing yourself an injury through overstraining on an awkward bit or falling off it.
Have fun.
